Kendra,
I am a pre-med(Want to do Anesthesia or PM &R) student at a community college, preparing to transfer to a Biochemistry program in a 4 year institution of higher learning. Anyways, I have considered Ross or St. George's as both possibilities. I'm just curious about your experiences on the Island and at Ross. My fiance is a Psych major but has decided to go to Medical school to pursue Psychiatry. We have worked it out so we will be finishing our undergrads at around the same time and plan on attending Medical school together.
We also are the proud parents of a baby girl. How conducive is Ross to family life? Did you meet any couples who both attended Ross together? What about the Clinicals in the States? Did they have to separate during those? what about child care? And living? cars? what amenities were available on the island? Sorry to drop so many questions but I am so curious. I can be reached at njeffers1985@gmail.com. Thanks and best of luck to you in New York.

Hola Kendra. Me gustaría que me escribas pues quiero compartir contigo un enfoque del problema del tabaquismo. No te quiero vender nada. Claudio Guerchicoff
Hi Kendra. I'd like to write because I want to share with you an approach to the problem of smoking. I do not want to sell anything. Only one front arm to focus on smoke as mental and behavior disease first, and then the neurotransmitters, society and other factors. I'm a psychologist, I live in Argentina, I am 58 years old and 23 years to assist smokers. A taste. Claudio Guerchicoff

Hi Kendra,

Reading your blog has been inspiring to me. I think your compassion and love for people is what would make you an outstanding doctor. I taught for many years and I made a difference ( I worked in a low socio-economic area so education was the only way out for these kids and I did got a couple of them out) but one day and got up and realized that I no longer felt the compassion that I should for my students. Being compassionate and caring wears you out emotionally and that maybe the biggest challenge you face as a doctor and that's why I think many people just detach. I had always made a pact with myself that if that happened I would leave and I did. So 31 is not old, I decided to leave my job, my home and go back to school full-time to get a degree in computer science at 30. It worked out for me though, I had gotten a scholarship and now I am working for a fortune 500 company The sacrifices you made - it will be worth it - I promise and the funny thing is you would realize that the journey is what made it all worthwhile not the destination......

Hello Kendra,

Enjoyed reading some of your blog...It brought me back to times past in NYC and Dominica!
Good luck in your future endeavors and upcoming match process.

I am now finishing my training in Radiology and Vascular Interventional Radiology.

The struggle is worth it! You will be finished before you know it.
Keep fighting the good fight and keep your spirits high!

Congrats! And I'm sure you will do just fine. I've refrained from putting up too much info on my blog on my residency applications until I've matched. But if you email me through my website, I will share more. :)

Hey Kendra, congrats making it this far. I'm a 1st semester student at Ross. I am sure a lot has changed since you were here on the rock. I can't wait to actually do my clinicals but my first thing I have to worry about is my first Mini. What are you trying to match in?
