This is Why I Didn’t Go Into Surgery
In the past week I have managed to: spill an entire cup of coffee all over my laptop (and I have now determined it is 100% broken), medical diploma, cell phone, and other items; drop my espresso carafe onto the kitchen floor; break a wine glass while washing it in the sink; break my ceramic toilet paper dispenser (don’t even ask how!); and walk into a wall. Yes, I said WALK INTO A WALL.
The only reason that I can think of (except for the obvious…a brain tumor) for my extreme clumsiness lately is because I’ve been on cold meds almost non-stop for weeks now. Yes, it’s ridiculous. I have been sick FOR WEEKS. I’m so sick of being sick, it’s not even funny. Anyway, I’m trying to wean myself off of the cold meds, but this means that I keep coughing uncontrollably (to the point of vomiting phlegm sometimes). Yeah, it totally sucks.
So, I’m stopping the cold meds, cold turkey, starting from now. Maybe I’ll stop breaking everything that I come in contact with. Or maybe not.
Note: I also managed to cover the entire contents of my bag/purse thingy with ranch dressing, but that’s a whole ‘nother story.

My name is Kendra and I am a newly minted doctor about to begin my residency in Psychiatry at

aww that sucks that you’re still sick. I’m no doc but maybe it’s allergies? I’ve been having cold-like symptoms for awhile but claritin helps a lot ^__^
Maybe you have pertussis? Sounds like paroxysmal cough, post-tussive vomiting… Had a Tdap booster lately?
That sign is terrible!! I had my cat poisoned by a nasty neighbour and if I’d known who, I would have strangled them! Hope your dogs are safe.
Well, I finally went to the doctor, and he diagnosed me with atypical pneumonia. Not 100% that’s an accurate diagnosis, but we’ll see what happens when I finish the course of erythromycin!
dropping things for me is a sign of hormonal issues….I get SUPER clumsy when um….you know……
