Attention Valued Customer
I recently received this comment on my “Well That Sucked” blog post:
are you seriously writing about this crap on your blog?
why do i come back here? it’s so unsatisfying.
I’ve stated this before, but I feel compelled to state it again. This blog is primarily for me, my friends and my family. Yes, that is a bit selfish, but that’s the way the cookie crumbles. I try to also post helpful tips and advice for others out there, but that is not my primary mission. I have intentionally not allowed this site to become commercialized. I have denied many people advertising space. I don’t intend for this site to be a “med school advice” site, or anything like that. If it was, I would not write about my personal life on it.
I write about all kinds of things on this site. Sometimes I give advice, sometimes I share about my med school experiences, sometimes about patient experiences, sometimes about broken baby strollers, and sometimes about my dog urinating on my foot.
I will not apologize for not being exciting enough, or medically oriented enough. If anyone is unsatisfied with the content of this website, by all means, do not visit it!
I hope I don’t sound like I’m ranting too much. I just want to be clear about my intent and goals for this site.
I went on two residency interviews last week, and I will share more about that soon.
For now, please enjoy this completely un-medical and very random photo that I took at a restaurant in Bushwick a few months ago.

My name is Kendra and I am a fourth-year medical student attending

I still love your blog hun. Ignore the haters!
HA! you are like a celebrity. People hate on you but always come back to read more.
To the unsatisfied reader…(.”screw me once shame on you, screw me twice shame on me”. This is an awesome blog, I am not a medical student but I like to read how my friend is doing.)
i guess that person missed the whole point of your blog. it’s great how open you are about your personal life. you’ve experienced much that i can relate to, especially as a carib med student.
jeez, so many interviews! congrats. i’m really impressed with how far you’ve gotten
I completely agree with you. There are many blogs out there that have business motivations behind them, or say what companies pay them to say, but I’m so happy to have found your genuine, personable, and well-documented blog. The way you show your personality and your everyday life is what I love about it! I agree with Laura… you ARE a celebrity, and I’m a fan.
Good luck with your interviews!!
Go on . U r best . Don’t give a s**t about those who find ur site incidently through mrs google.
Kendra I think you are fabulous! Keep writing and living and laughing.
Hey Kendra,
I am going to be starting at Ross in January and came across your blog this summer. I wanted to let you know that I have read almost your entire blog and have thoroughly enjoyed it! I enjoy your random photos of Brooklyn, the updates about your dogs and getting a glimpse of what my life may be like for the next several years! I just felt the need to let you know that I appreciate what you have done and the more I read your blog, the more I think about starting my own when I start class in January!! Good luck with your interviews!!!
The internet is foah teh trollz. You must not let them get to you. Focus on the lolcats and llamas.
No, seriously. You’re a breath of fresh air. Well, sort of, it is Brooklyn…….
Whatever…people need to stop tripping! YOU pay for YOUR site every month! You can do whatever you like with it!! I am completely blessed to have found it!! If you are in medicine or not you learn a lot how one person can be different and not the same cookie cutter medical student, resident, or attedning. This is your life and live how you please! I love your pictures! Why? Because that’s what I would be taking pictures of!!! In LA it’s a bit harder due to traffic, but in SF i took tons of pic of taggeed up trucks and people thought it was dumb, but I love my pictures! Keep pushing!
Thanks for sharing. Your blog is indeed interesting and useful.
I really enjoy your blog, not despite the non-medical posts, but precisely because of the kinds of things you write about. It’s anyone’s guess whether there’s a dog post, a school post, a random picture post or something else anytime I visit your blog. You keep things interesting and fun. Just keep on doing what you’ve been doing and ignore the trollz. really. they’re not worth even writing about.
i m gonna cm there and kick u if stop blogging;-)…..damn i love ur page……….;-) keeep doin it….i m a med student myself….this site mkes me relax a bit….
