Running is My Meditation
Today was a great day. I got lots of errandy items completed, and the temperature outside was a wonderful 66 degrees! Because of the super weather, I went on a 7-mile run across the Williamsburg bridge, and into Manhattan.
I know I’ve said this a million times before, but I must reiterate it again. I live for running. It is truly the best form of relaxation for me. Its power is in its simplicity. No tools are needed. You don’t have to have any skills. There is no equipment to buy. You don’t even really need shoes. You can do it anywhere and in any weather. My doggies can come with me. I get to see wonderful things. I get to breathe the wonderful outside air. My skin becomes covered in sweat. I push myself to my limits. I can listen to great music. I get to experience the world. My endorphins make me happy. I really don’t know what I would do without at least one run a week. Life just wouldn’t be as sweet.
Please enjoy the two photos with this post. One was taken the other day when it was sub-arctic outside and I had to walk the doggies (the Kendra Silver Bullet). The other was taken tonight. It’s molly in her strange “sleeping while raising her arm” pose.
It’s time to eat the fruits (well, really vegetables) of my labor…a yummy dish I just prepared with veggies from my fire-escape garden. Good night!
