Remember the one about your doggies licking your cuts? Well today in Biochem I learned why they do that...and of course I thought of you! So saliva contains Lysozyme Endoglycosidase which kills Gram positive bacteria by cleaving the bacterias cell wall. So Animals instinctively lick wounds in an attempt to retard infections preventing the growth of bacteria. How cool is that!
