Manipulating Doctors
This is EXACTLY the kind of stuff that I’ve seen go on in many different hospitals. It always saddens and sickens me. Yes, we have begun to address this problem, and laws, regulations, etc. are being passed. However, it’s still a nasty problem (and secret to many patients).
My name is Kendra and I am a newly minted doctor about to begin my residency in Psychiatry at

Thanks Kendra for another excellent post. I appreciate you sharing this. I too use to work in the mental health field before medical school and I think its very interesting and sad how pharmaceuticals are being marketed….
this is the most boringest video on your blog, Kendra! I want more crashed baby strollers !!!
Hi, now that I have my full pension and have contributed to the suffering of thousands and thousands of people, let me tell you how we did it: Doctors are people and we, as sexy ex-nurses, know just how to push their buttons.
Doctors don’t have to listen to sales reps any more than politicians have to listen to lobbyists. They’re sly and conniving, but THAT’S THE JOB. They’ll lay a lot of pork on you, but are you susceptible to bribery? To some pretty face going all nice-nice?
I know it’s hard, doctors and future doctors- but if your commitment is to integrity then you’ll always do your own research and not make your decisions about public health based on some sales rep’s “this month’s wonder drug”.

i dont think theres anything earth shattering in this video. it’s their job to sell the drug and its our job to do whats best by our patients. sometimes those two motives clash, other times not. for them to learn how to sell to different types of physicians is like us reading up on a patient of ours that has a rare disease
