My name is Kendra and I am a third-year medical student attending Ross University School of Medicine. I went through my basic science training on the Nature Island of Dominica, hence the name of this blog. However, I am currently living in Brooklyn, New York, where I'm doing my clinical rotations. I am a life enthusiast. I talk to strangers, cut the tags off of my pillows, and I don’t carry an umbrella with me because I prefer to get wet.

Attending a decent school, having good teachers and practicing at a modest hospital compensates to the problems and mis-fortunates that you mentioned.
The problem where I am is that the worst thing over here is the school which makes the whole experience even worse. I don’t know what I can do to fix or compensate for that.
Of course it is good to travel and have new experiences and meet people with other perspectives and mentalities. Those who never lived abroad have no idea what they are missing and what is going on around them. You know the US is not the whole world!
