Survivor Dominica Update
I had no idea that my previous post about Survivor filming in Dominica would stir so much debate! Since I’ve received so many hits and questions about whether or not Survivor is actually filming here, I thought I should let everyone know what I know.
As I stated in my first post, I saw people walking around in Survivor Dominica t-shirts, apparently filming here in Dominica near the Indian River. Well, to be perfectly clear, I’m 100% sure that the t-shirts said Survivor, and I’m about 90% sure it said Dominica.
The only reason I’m clarifying is because several people have told me that instead of Survivor, they may be filming a new show by the same producer, Mark Burnett called Pirate Master. From the people I’ve spoken with, it sounds like the show will be a spinoff of Survivor, based on people navigating “pirate-like” adventures. Whatever that is. I’m not sure if the show will actually be called Survivor or not.
However, for some reason or another, it seems that the people working for the show are calling it Survivor. I know for example, that the Survivor people managed to get the boat that I was supposed to sail on a few weeks ago. In addition, the Survivor people have placed very large orders at the restaurant down the road from me. Also, they tell all the locals that they are filming Survivor. I spoke with a man yesterday who put down fake quick sand by the Indian River for some scene that they were shooting.
So, that’s what I know! They call themselves Survivor, and they wear Survivor t-shirts! It sounds to me like it’s some kind of reality show about pirates, but I don’t know what the exact name will be. Either way, it seems funny to me that they are trying to re-create pirate adventures here! Also, I think the next Pirates of the Caribbean will be coming out soon, and they filmed a portion of it here. I actually saw an ad on campus the other day where they were looking for extras, which confused me because I thought they had already left the island. (In case you didn’t know, they filmed most of “Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man’s Chest” here in Dominica.)
Anyway, I hope this helps satiate some of your curious pirate-adventure-seeking minds out there!

I know some people who have been involved with the filming. but since going to be an anonymous coward my input is as worthless as the last guy’s 
it is survivor. i have a friend who is a security guard up at the indian river and a cousing who drives for them, all the buses u see passing around with an rsn sign and number work for them. it was also in the the newspaper. i am not sure if a movie is underway as well. but it was anouced on the radio that a filming company is here
Based on information from a few other sites, I think there’s a very good chance that it is the new cbs pirates project… also from Mark Burnett of Survivor…
The timing works out right…. I know someone who was selected and will be coming home on Friday from somewhere in the Carribbean… My guess is that CBS is disguising the new show by referring to it as Survivor Dominica.

For those that are wondering if it is infact Survivor, it is.
I was just in Dominica last week and came across their filming area on a hike. I was told by the security that I can’t go beyond this point because CBS is filming a new season of the show in this area. Go figure.

I think Pirate Master is in the DR. I’ve heard from more than one source that the next Survivor will be filmed in China this summer, or thereabouts.
