		<description>I, too, am a great appreciator of the &#039;wondrous water works&#039; of synesthetic photographer Marcia Smilack. As a synesthete, myself, and as a researcher into the phenomenon, I feel it important to say that very few synesthetes &quot;suffer&quot; from synesthesia. Rather, the vast majority of synesthetes I interviewed in the course of my research would not want to &quot;be cured&quot; of their special form of perception.
