Carnival Dominica
Yesterday and today were the last two days of Carnival here in Dominica. For these two days, everything closes down and people basically party in the streets all day and while dancing to loud calypso music. Since I missed Carnival last year, I decided to check it out last night. I put on a festive outfit and my friends and I headed to the streets of Portsmouth. I was surprised that I only saw one other person wearing a costume. But we had a lot of fun drinking rum punch, dancing in the streets and “jumping up” as it’s called.
