No Snow on My Birfday

Today I turned 28 years old.  Hmmm, I guess I don’t really feel any older.  Most of me still feels about 20.  The only times I feel old are when I come back from running and my knees hurt so badly that I have to limp around. (Yeah, yeah, I know I shouldn’t bang my knees up so badly.)  I guess I also feel old when I realize that the kids these days don’t realize that there was ever a time when we didn’t have the internet.   (Yeah, I know technically it was around when I was born, but you know what I mean.)  Most of the kids probably don’t even know what a landline phone is.  Scary.  Anyhoo, it doesn’t really feel much like my birfday today.  It pretty much snows every year on my birthday (at least in the D.C. area it does).  My mom loves to tell the story about how there was feet of snow when I was born, due to a large blizzard that happened right on my birthday back in 1979.  Luckily, my parents made it to the hospital in one piece, and before I poppped out.  Well, my plans for the day are to watch my lectures, sell raffle tickets, study, run, go to neuro lab, and study.  I think this is officially the most boring birfday I’ve ever had!

Happy B-day to you, happy b-day to you, happy b-day dear Kendraaaaa, happy b-day to you! …and MANNY MOREEEE! Just wanted you to know that I am thinking of you and would make you a huge birthday cake were I there with you! It would be yellow with cream cheese frosting decorated with BUTTERFLIES! Although there is no snow on your birthday there in the Dominica, I am sure you don’t miss the COLD weather we are having in VA and TN. Temps are far below freezing and I am sure there are many folks HERE who wish they were THERE in the tropical beauty of your environment.

By the way, I was sorry to read about Klyde and do hope Scope is doing OK. Like you, I love my pets too. It must be a ‘family’ thing.

Hang in there. With love, Aunt Carolyn

It is hard for me to be here and you to be there! We miss you very much, and wish we could be with you on your Birthday. Yes, it was a very snowy day in February way back in the year of 1979! You were born a very short time after we plowed through the snow and made it to hospital for delivery time. I remember it well!

Scope is lucky to have you for his new mom. I know you will make a great one :) Give him a hug from me!

Here’s to a great new year!
    Love,
    Bob

    Happy belated birthday.
Reaffirm yourself. That is the true use of a birthday.
Do what you love to with those you love and with those who love you.
    Snow or no snow.
    Knees or no knees.

Hope all is well. Love reading your blog. Sandy
