My Sanctuary
I’m tired. I mean really tired. But I decided to write a blog entry right now because I think it might help. My days are long. Today was a classic example. I got up at 6:30 (after going to bed around at around 1:00 last night). I made it to campus around 7:30 and plopped myself down in the library. I reviewed for today’s lectures until 10:00, and then watched two gross anatomy lectures – one on the upper limb, and one on the arm and forearm. This took me until about noon. I then reviewed for anatomy lab until 12:30, and took 15 minutes to eat lunch. I made it to the anatomy lab at 12:45, and dissected the upper and lower arm until around 4:00. From 4:00 to 6:00 I watched the first embryology lecture on….crap, I can’t remember. Well, it was something about syncotrophoblasts or something. I then studied biochem with my study group from 6:00 until 8:45. I ate dinner from 8:45 until 9:00, and then went back to the anatomy lab to review the brachial plexus. I left the lab around 10:15, and then tried to finish the embryo lecture, but my head ended up bouncing off of my desk, so I left at around 11:45.
I’m now home, and showered and getting ready to melt into my bed. There are a million things I’d like to write about, but I honestly don’t have the strength or motivation, so I’ll have to wait until later. Why does later never seem to arrive? Hmm, well, anyway, I hope you like the picture on this blog entry. I took it today at one of the places on campus that I like to think of as my sanctuary. No one ever seems to go there, but I can’t understand why. It gives me goosebumps everytime. Good night everyone, and sweet dreams.

Hey you, hang on! The US system seems to be much more demanding than the European system, I wonder why they try their best to discard of people without sponges for brains (which does not predict anything about their qualities to become a humane, good doctor), but many have passed before you, so you will too!
